Ippocalyptica Svn Eater was one of 2014’s best death metal albums and I still listen to it frequently, especially when lifting, and it seems like The Broken Seal will be one of 2021’s best DM albums, too! LVCIFYRE has mastered the art of making oppressive, crushing, and aggressive death metal that is not cavernous or mired in murk, which is truly commendable. Beyond the excellent musicianship and compelling song craft, these vocals remain some of the best in the business as well. Devastating work! Favorite track: Gods Await Us.

No gimmicks, no humor...just a relentless onslaught of blasphemous death metal with one hell of a negative atmosphere. Finally, after years of patience, Lvcifyre return with The Broken Seal. It's not as merciless as Svn Eater is, but goddamn does it still shred the wings off of angels. My death metal album of 2021, easily... Favorite track: Black Beneath the Sun.

Dark and suffocating death metal sorcery from the innermost bowels of the European underground. “The Broken Seal” is a unique fusion of musical worlds, concocted to plague the reality of flesh.

When Lvcifyre made their way into Milan’s SPVN Studio in early 2020, they had no idea how much everyday reality would be changing around them. As the old world drew its final gasping breaths, Lvcifyre ventured deep into themselves to birth a smothering slab of audible darkness fit to greet the new age.

Calculating and cruel, steeped in an ambience of controlled fury, it offers a jarring journey through the haunted recesses of the mortal mind. Seven painstaking years in the making, Lvcifyre mastermind T. Kaos describes “The Broken Seal” as ‘the biggest mountain to climb so far’ in his 25 years as an active musician.
