ribsgibson A cavernous whirlwind of chaotic death metal. Like a freight train right to the head. If Teitanblood was more structured and had slightly better production, then conjured up Morbid Angel, you'd get Svn Eater. Favorite track: Fiery Spheres of the Seven.
Ippocalyptica

Ippocalyptica Lvcifyre is a force to be reckoned with, and on Svn Eater, they show you just how uncompromisingly savage and intense they are. This style of death metal is similar to what bands like Altarage, Mitochondrion and Diocletian play, so do not expect any melodic flourishes, acoustic interludes or clean vocals at any point. The atmosphere on Svn Eater is thick, oppressive and ominous, and you will not receive any respite. Luckily, respite is unnecessary when the instrumental prowess and the riffs are as impressive as they are here. Once you start this album, prepare yourself for a descent into Hell, a descent from which your return cannot be guaranteed. Favorite track: Sun Eater.
Matthew Toye

Matthew Toye Fantastic death metal with every minute of it being forged in the fires of Hell. Favorite track: Liber Lilith.
SamsaraT

SamsaraT Not only did Lucifyre eat the sun, they had the thing for breakfast. Here they go now, consuming the stars and making sure the black sky crushes us all down. Enjoy the long night.

seventhceremony Dark, unrelenting black/death done right. The first song sets the tone perfectly for the whole album - this is a creepy, evil journey, filled with menacing riffs and other-worldly vocals. Favorite track: Fyre Made Flesh.
Aodhan Bulger

Aodhan Bulger Hands down the best death metal album of its year, and one of the best of modern times, I reckon. Tough choice picking one song. Favorite track: Night Sea Sorcery.
