camjr01 You know this was a but of a blind purchase for me but I saw there was 1 CD left so I rushed to get it. Man that paid off. I saw this band got a decent amount of hate on Metallum so this must be a big improvement for them because I see nothing to hate on here. This is top tier aggressive death metal of the more atmospheric variety with everything from some ambience and clean guitar licks thrown in for good measure. If only more death metal was like this I just might fall in love with the genre. Favorite track: Earth Shall Mourn.

YomaBarr This band's been always accused of/accursed with not knowing when to stop - an album, a song, a riff. Now they've nailed it. This is that Finndeath you can eat with and sleep with - dense, thick, sick and even with that ominous outworldly atmosphere I love so much in my death metal. Well done!

Six years since Finland's Lie in Ruin's last full-length (2014's Towards Divine Death), "Floating in Timeless Streams" sees a more streamlined approach from the band. While "Towards Divine Death" clocked in at 71 minutes of brutality, "Floating in Timeless Streams" trims some of that excess at just over 42 minutes without losing any of the impact.

While "Floating..." continues to hone and highlight the band's tremendous guitar work by Roni Ärling and Tuomas Kulmala, the band has added the extremely talented Jussi-Pekka Manner (Corpsessed) on drums. Roni Sahari's (Desolate Shrine) vocals add the icing on the cake, making "Floating in Timeless Streams" the band's magnum opus and a top highlight of 2020. Finnish death metal's finest!
